A new Advisory Group has been set up to bring the Fort back into use (https://www.thurrock.gov.uk/thurrock-historical-places/coalhouse-fort-advisory-group ), a feasibility study has been produced (at the bottom of that page), and the Fort has received Heritage Lottery Funding to begin that process.
